War of the Buttons
We were asked to create some poster explorations for the release of the french film War of the buttons, based on the French novel La Guerre des boutons, by Louis Persaud. While other versions of the story had been made previously, all relied heavily on depicting the children that make up the two rival gangs central to the theme of the story. As a departure, we thought it would be an interesting exercise to try and convey the story graphically. We spent countless hours positioning an old collection of buttons to form the title.
