This photo was taken from Pier 25, located between Franklin and N. Moore Streets on the West side of Manhattan. It was shot with my iPhone 4 through a public binocular tower viewer located at the edge of the pier. (You know, those public binoculars that are usually located in scenic areas, which are sometimes free or coin operated.) The caught moment has a few symbolic meanings. It captures a sailboat heading out to sea (what a great feeling of freedom!) with the Statue of Liberty (a gift from France to America) appearing between its sails.
