A Film Campaign with Far-Reaching Impact.

When PlanetFab was approached to create the key art for the groundbreaking documentary Bully, we knew we had the fortunate opportunity to work on a project that could truly make a difference in the broad social picture and, as a result, impact social behaviors. The film, which follows the lives of five students and their families over the course of a school year, offers an unflinching look at the devastating impact of bullying in schools across America.

Our concept: to create a sense of urgency—a visual warning sign that would not only capture the attention of viewers but also serve as a powerful call to action.

As the documentary made its way into theaters, our poster design began to take on a life of its own, sparking a national conversation about the urgent need to address bullying in our schools. The impact became unmistakably clear as the poster evolved into a recognizable symbol associated with the anti-bullying movement— a rallying cry for the anti-bullying movement.

Bully ignited a national conversation on the prevalence of bullying and the need for better strategies in schools. Across the country, schools and community organizations adopted our design as a symbol of their commitment to creating safe, inclusive environments for all students. The poster adorned classroom walls and served as a constant reminder of the power of collective action in the face of injustice. Our concept also inspired “The Bully Project,” a campaign aimed at raising awareness and providing resources for bullying prevention. Additionally, “The Bully Project Mural” by Adobe served as a digital hub for people to share their stories, art, and perspectives on bullying, fostering a sense of community and support.

The impact of our design is truly remarkable, exceeding beyond just a theatre poster, resonating with a wide audience, and making a significant contribution to the movement against bullying is something that we could have never imagined. We encourage you to support this important film and important movement.
